Yesterday, the Jegna Klub was honored for its role in supporting Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools (KCKPS) students during the Annual KCK Schools Foundation for Excellence Breakfast, held at the KCKCC Technical Education Center. Superintendent Dr. Anna Stubblefield highlighted the klub’s contributions, specifically through its Breakfast & Books Program.
Coach Mo accepted the recognition on behalf of the Jegna Klub, which has made a significant impact on the district’s youth since the Klub’s inception in 2017. The Breakfast & Books Program started in 2018 at Grant Elementary School and has expanded across multiple schools and continues to serve elementary students with opportunities to engage in meaningful discussions with industry professionals and community role models while fostering a love of reading.
Reflecting on the recognition, Coach Mo shared, “Yesterday was very unexpected. To be recognized on that stage, by Dr. Stubblefield and the KCK School Foundation, with companies like JE Dunn & CBiz in the room is humbling. Thank you to Dr. Stubblefield, KCKPS, Christal Watson, and the KCK School Foundation. It’s nice to be noticed, and we appreciate it.”
With strong community partners and continued support, the Jegna Klub aims to further expand its programs, empowering more students and creating lasting impacts throughout the KCKPS district.
